Friday Fails- The Dealership

This Friday Fail is brought to you by The Dealership.

We hear it all the time, the dealership is the best place to take your car for repair. Well here I will show you that that is not true. The customer bought the car new, had the free oil changes and service package that they sell or give you and was faithful to the dealership. When the package expired it came to us. Our first visit with this customer and this car was not what we would have expected.

Picture one is a coolant leak, not a new but an old leak that was still active. Picture 2 is an oil leak, same story still active, and picture 3 is a stripe oil drain plug. NONE of this was brought to the customer's attention. Why? I don't know can only guess as to why, so I will.

1) The guys doing the job are not skilled enough to know that this is a problem.

2) The guys doing the job did not have the skill to repair the problem.

3) The guys doing the job did not want to do the repair since it would have been a warranty job and they don’t pay well.

Any of these 3 are the only reasons that the customer would not know about the problems. So the next time you bring your car to The Dealership ask yourself, Are they trained, Do they know, and Do they care? At Automotive Blessing we are all 3 rolled into one. You may not like what we say but you will at least get told and can make your own decision on how you want to have your vehicle repaired.

By automotiveblessings June 7, 2023
Yes, it is recommended to change the transmission fluid as routine maintenance. Transmission fluid plays a critical role in lubricating and cooling the parts inside the transmission . Over time, the fluid can break down, become contaminated and lose its effectiveness. Changing the fluid Flushes out these contaminants. Clean fluid keeps the shifting smooth, maintains performance and extends the life of the transmission. Not changing the fluid can lead to issues such as slipping, increased heat, and transmission failure.

Not changing the power steering fluid in your vehicle can lead to several issues: Contaminated Fluid: Fluid can become contaminated with dirt, and metal particles. They can build up and damage the system, such as the pump, rack and pinion, and seals. Reduced Performance: As the fluid gets older, its lubricating ability is less. This results in more friction and wear within the system. You may experience hard turning, or a whining noise. Component Damage: The pump will have higher temperatures due to dirty fluid. This can lead to wear and failure of the pump. Seals within the system can get hard, causing them to leak.
