When it comes to brakes, it's essential to have them serviced to ensure safe driving. Our technicians will inspect the brake pads, rotors, and calipers for wear. We will also check the brake fluid levels and flush the brakes if needed.

Some brake pads come with their own thickness gauge, called a squealer. Once that gauge starts to touch the rotor it makes a high pitched noise. As the pads wear down the noise gets more permanent as it starts to wear into the brake rotor. If the brake pads are not replaced they will wear all the way to the metal backing plate. At that point you will notice a grinding sound and a soft brake pedal.

The brake rotors will be measured for their thickness and any warpage. As brake pads wear out they also wear down on the brake rotors. As the brake rotors wear they get thinner. A thin brake rotor is a safety problem. It may break if it gets too hot from usage. Once a brake rotor gets too hot it will also start to warp. You will feel brake pulsation when applying the brake pedal.

The brake fluid is checked for its copper content and moisture. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, that means it absorbs moisture. Even in a sealed system moisture gets into the brake fluid. Moisture lowers the flash temperature of brake fluid. If the moisture content is too high the brake fluid needs to be replaced.
